Bisabolol

Calming from nature – for body, skin and soul
Description:
Bisabolol is a collective term for a group of chemical compounds belonging to the class of sesquiterpene alcohols. In cosmetic products, "bisabolol" can stand for natural α-bisabolol as well as for synthetically produced mixtures that contain several isomers (e.g. B. α, β, or racemic bisabolol).

Bisabolol generally has a skin-calming, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effect –, but the exact effectiveness depends on the isomer composition. While natural (–) -α-bisabolol is considered to be particularly effective, synthetic variants are often cheaper but less bioactive.

Bisabolol is particularly popular in use in skin care products, deodorants, lip care and aftershaves because it reduces irritation and strengthens the skin protection barrier.
